A new research has found out that the practice of using fibre optic broadband is increasing worldwide on a large scale. The people signing up for it has increased so widely that it is becoming known everywhere. This research conducted by ABI discovered that the adoption of such super fast services is expected to increase by 20% in the years 2008 to 2014. Presently 11% of broadband users all around the world are using fibre services and 65% have subscribed to DSL technology.
Research associate of ABI Research Khin Sandy Lynn had said that file sharing, downloads, IPTV, online gaming and video conferencing are all responsible for the increasing demand of high speed internet services by the customers. The latest technology is urging the companies to come up with all the possible ways to attract the customers and make them use their better and advanced services. The growing need and demand of fibre optic broadband is happening because of these particular services.
As the political parties are gearing up for the upcoming general elections, the fibre optic broadband is becoming a major issue in the situation.
