According to a music industry leader, UK’s broadband suppliers will not have to go through the cost of dealing with illegal file sharing. The British Phonographic Industry had confirmed that the efforts to deal with the illegal file sharing fiasco will not lead to higher costs of services to the broadband customers.
Geoff Taylor who is the music industry’s chief executive replied to the allegations from bundle broadband supplier Talk Talk who said in a Daily Mail column that anti-piracy measure taken against them will be the copyright crackdown they will pay for.
He also explained in the BPI’s blog that the internet service providers won’t be forced to cut down the cost on the subscribers and the companies were proven guilty of spreading such scare stories about the measures which are supposed to be taken.
He mainly put the point that the companies will have the full freedom of doing whatever they want with the costs of their products or to pass on the costs of notifications to the account holders whose accounts are used illegally.
